South Gloucestershire first achieved Fairtrade County status in 2009 and successfully renewed in 2010 and 2013. Thornbury and Yate are also Fairtrade towns within the county.
Fairtrade has support from a number of churches and schools across the county, as well as University of the West of England which is an active Fairtrade University. We are currently working to increase the number of businesses in South Glos who support Fairtrade, both small local cafes and offices as well as the larger employers situated in the business parks in the north Bristol fringe.
The steering group is always looking for new members, so if you are passionate about unfair trade and want to make a difference locally please contact Jamie Cooke, South Glos Fairtrade Coordinator to join the group.
